因應退休後20、30年的支出，退休族最好應有「穩定現金流」，但退休就代表無固定薪資，怎樣才能有穩定的現金流？專家建議，長期穩定配息的股票、ETF（指數股票型基金）、基金等都可以列入考慮。
隨著國人理財觀念普及，專家對打造退休後穩定的現金流提供多項建議，長期穩定配息的股票即是選擇之一，金融股因股價大多在30元以下，股利配發也很穩定，是很多剛入門存股族的首選，退休前可以將領到的股息再買進股票，增加持股部位，提高退休後股息收入。理財專家林奇芬則建議，以股票基金或股票ETF存退休金較適合，最好以定時定額的方式每月固定投資，可以降低市場波動風險、提高報酬率。
今年台股投資熱，也使台股ETF買氣大增，根據投信投顧公會最新統計，以高股息與ESG相關題材的ETF基金最受投資人青睞，人氣上升最多的包括元大高股息、永豐台灣ESG、富邦基因免疫生技基金以及國泰永續高股息ETF等基金。
南山人壽理財顧問也建議準退休族群可以選擇還本型商品作為現金流規畫，並有「美元」與「台幣」兩種幣別可做多元資產配置，對於金錢觀念較為保守，以及沒有外幣使用需求者，建議選擇台幣商品；另外，也可以透過年金險與還本終身保險保障退休生活。

除前述投資工具，退休族務必重視醫療保障。專家建議可透過醫療險來構築，南山人壽提醒，年長者容易因意外導致骨折，在醫療險外可透過附加骨折險的保障來轉嫁風險。
此外，退休更須有「完整的長期照顧規畫」。南山人壽建議，若情況允許可投保長期照顧保險，可減輕未來家庭照顧的負擔，假使有預算考量，可優先選擇小額終老保險，不僅保費較便宜，繳費年期選擇性也多。據統計，目前小額終老的投保件數中，有將近4成的要保人年齡超過55歲，顯示中高齡族群對小額終老險的需求高，且相當關注年老後的生活保障。
